Already Gone recently celebrated an incredible milestone by playing their 55th and 56th consecutive sold-out tribute shows to the Eagles at Main Street Crossing in Tomball, TX. That’s an impressive feat for any band! But in a surprising twist that fans were buzzing about, they decided to shake things up a bit. Instead of sticking to their usual all-Eagles format, they crafted a special one-time-only show that kicked off with a classic set of Eagles hits before diving into a nostalgic second set filled with tunes from the 60s, 70s, and 80s—songs that shaped their musical upbringing. It was like a trip down memory lane that brought everyone in the crowd back to their own golden days, and you could feel the excitement in the air!
The really big surprise of the night was the band’s decision to mix things up with their lead vocals. Harry, Johnny, Clint, and Leroy all took turns at the mic during the second set, bringing their own unique flair to each song. You could tell how much fun they were having with their swap up of lead vocals, and the crowd responded with enthusiasm. Harry kicked things off by honoring his guitar hero, Jimi Hendrix, with a scorching rendition of “Fire.” Johnny followed suit, belting out “Sharing the Night Together” by Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show and “Vehicle” by The Ides of March, both of which had the crowd singing along.
Clint’s choices really showcased his vocal prowess especially his version of Billy Joel’s 1977 classic “Vienna”, which was nothing short of mesmerizing. You could feel the emotion in every note as he poured his heart into the lyrics, reminding everyone of the song’s timeless message about patience and life’s journey. The emotional ballad stood in stark contrast to the lively rendition of Badfinger’s “Come and Get It” that Clint had delivered earlier in the set.
Leroy added his touch with “Jet”, a classic by Paul McCartney and Wings, but it was his performance of “Dream On” by Aerosmith that brought the crowd to their feet for a standing ovation. And while Jay would have joined in with a lead vocal, time constraints meant they had to sacrifice his solo of “Paperback Writer.”
All in all, it was a night filled with incredible music and a perfect blend of emotions, showcasing the talents of each performer and reminding everyone just how powerful these classic songs can be!
